The Children’s Employment Commission Report is the second report created by the Royal Commissioners. The Royal Commission of Inquiry was championed by Lord Ashley, Earl of Shaftesbury, to investigate the condition and treatment of child workers. Careers in children's literature include being a children's author, or being a children's book editor. Children's authors and children's book editors work together to produce captivating storybooks for children. These books include board books and picture books for young children. Children's book authors write the content for the books.

In , Parliament established the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Children’s Employment. A report on conditions in mines was released in , followed by a report on conditions of child workers in trades and factories. The reports were based on hundreds of interviews, most of them with children. Mines and Collieries Act (c. 99), commonly known as the Mines Act , was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The Act prohibited female labour as well as the employment of boys under ten years old in coal mines. It was a response to the working conditions of children revealed in the Children's Employment Commission (Mines. Royal Commission on Employment of Children in Factories: Supplementary Report () As part of the parliamentary inquiry which led to the Factory Act, the Royal Commission conducted a widespread investigation into the working conditions within mills and factories.

However, the commission does not hold many names; it was created to record working conditions for children in various trades, rather than to record the names of factory workers. This Children’s Employment Commission Report is the second report created by the Royal Commissioners.
